Exploring the Dynamic Duo of Caves – Gua Sanghyang Tikoro &
Sanghyang Poek, Cipatat
Sanghyang Tikoro and Sanghyang Poek are essentially the parts of the
charming area of Cipatat or Saguling Hydro Power Plant, along with Sanghyang
Heuleut. Both caves are placed in the same area which is overflowing with clear
water and breathtaking surroundings. Sanghyang Tikoro which means the holy
throat is a deep cave with an underground river stream. It is believed to have
formed by the cooling down of lava during a major eruption, while the water
slowly eroded and shaped the stalactites cave. Similarly, Sanghyang Poek is
also a cave just 15 minutes away from Tikoro, and a part of the area’s famed
tourist spot. The landscape is slightly different as it’s diagonally shaped or
slanted. Traveling inside the cool cave, you will experience dripping water and
pitch black darkness before emerging to the other side. Our verdict? Definitely
worth exploring!
